OU LIVE 2025 Student Campus Host Sign-Up:

Are you passionate about Oakwood University and eager to share your experience with prospective students? Sign up to be a Campus Host during Oakwood Live 2025! As a Campus Host, you'll have the unique opportunity to provide a high school senior with an authentic glimpse into college life by hosting them overnight in your room. Your generosity will not go without reward; you may earn up to $100 ($25/per night).

IMPORTANT:

Only Residents living in the following facilities are eligible to host and receive the stipend for an OU Live guest: Carter Hall, Wade Hall, Holland Hall, Edwards Hall, and Peterson Hall. Limit one guest per Oakwood University student. Only HS Seniors will be housed on campus. Both occupants of your room (and suite where applicable) must agree to hosting a guest even if the guest is assigned to you. Please indicate if there is a vacancy in your room in the comments below.

Host Guidelines

When signing up to host, you may indicate a preferred guest. Please ensure your preferred guest is a registered attendee. While we will do our best to honor your preference, we cannot guarantee that you will be paired with your chosen guest. Pairings with your preferred guest will be assigned based on availability, scheduling, and other logistical needs.

Hosts will only be paid if their assigned guest stays in their room for the entire duration of the event. Guest swapping is not permitted under any circumstances.

Responsibilities:

Consider what your experience was like when visiting Oakwood for the first time, and what made it great or challenging - provide the experience you enjoyed or would have liked to have.

Accommodation: Offer a comfortable and welcoming space (i.e., clean, organized, adequate sleeping space, etc.) for your guest in your residence hall room. Ensure that they have access to the room and their personal belongings at convenient times. Also, please be mindful that your guest may have a different curfew than you do and will need to access the room on time.
Ensure Safety and Comfort: Make sure your guest feels safe and at ease during their stay, adhering to all campus guidelines and policies.
Consistent Communication: Establish a reliable and prompt means for your guest to communicate with you and for you to communicate with them (i.e., group chat, Instagram messages, email, etc.).
Guided Experience: Escort your guest around campus where your schedule permits, introduce them to your friends, and share insights about academic life, social activities, and OU Campus culture.
Attend Events: Accompany your guest to scheduled OU Live events when possible and appropriate, including campus tours, Chapel, AYM, sporting events, and information sessions. However, you are still responsible for attending your scheduled classes.
Answer Questions: Be a helpful resource for your guest, answering questions about college life, your major, clubs, and more.
